The Curved House
Located in Jaipur, The Curved House is conceived as a contemporary residence where architectural form becomes the defining narrative of the home. Designed by Scapesmiths, the project explores a sculptural approach to residential architecture, where fluid curves soften the massing of the structure while responding thoughtfully to the urban corner site.
An architectural composition where sculpted edges, layered terraces, and quiet materiality create a home that balances contemporary expression with calm everyday living.
The spatial planning unfolds across multiple levels, carefully layering private and shared zones to encourage intuitive movement through the house. The ground floor accommodates the arrival sequence and a jewelry studio, while the upper levels transition into the primary living spaces. Open living and dining areas connect seamlessly to balconies and terraces, allowing daylight and outdoor views to extend the interiors while maintaining spatial continuity.
Materiality plays a restrained yet expressive role in defining the atmosphere. Soft-toned concrete finishes, vertical louvers, and warm interior surfaces create a balanced palette where texture and proportion guide the visual experience. Generous planters integrated along the balconies introduce greenery that softens the architecture and enhances the connection with the outdoors.
The project reflects Scapesmiths’ design philosophy—where sculptural form, thoughtful planning, and quiet material richness come together to create architecture that feels both contemporary and deeply livable.
